I Didn't Realize How Cute Koalas were...

...Until I painted them on some pillows!! Oh fabric paint, how I love thee! Seriously, I see some fun experimenting in my future! :)

These turned out quite well...they're so cute! I barely want to sell them, but I will...I really think that they could either be for kids or for other crafters out there who appreciate cute, handmade pillows! These are SMALL pillows, about 7" x 7 1/2" just so you aren't deceived...you'll see in the last picture.

Small Koala Pillows are being sold for $15 each! Get yours today! :)

I Forgot...

...that I was going to show you those "non-purse-related" items...

Well, here they are. The little blue guy was inspired by chocolate chips, and the other one...who knows...and I can't tell if he's a bear or a cat...maybe a he's a bearcat (but not as creepy-looking as an ACTUAL real-life bearcat!). Anyways, random but fun. And quite small, they fit in the palm of your hand!

Also, I just finished this Happy Cloud Puff...On a rainy day, he'll remind you that not all clouds are bad news! :)
And here they are hanging out together...

Ok...back to purse making....

Black and White Floral pouch/wallet

I'm finally starting to make smaller purses/pouches and whatnot. I'm recognizing that it would be beneficial to make multiple small and *quick* projects, so as to help build some inventory (since larger purses typically take me a few hours). With that being said, here's my latest addition on etsy :)

Purses, Totes and Handbags...Oh My!

It seems as though my crochet hooks are getting a bit dusty now that I've been sewing so much! Here are the latest additions to my purse collection, and each of them could be yours by visiting my etsy site!

Enjoy! (For more pictures just click on the purse you'd like to see!)

So shiny and wonderful!

For years I never thought I'd be pink girl, but now I find myself liking the color more and more! But no, I'm not planning on keeping this one, because...well, then I would never sell anything and instead I'd have a million purses lying around! Anyways...

I think this fabric is beautiful! For the lining, I used a black fabric with a faint grayish flower pattern on it, and then the 8 inside pockets (Yes, 8!) are made from the pink flowered fabric.

This purse/tote is a medium to large size. The body measures about 12" x "10", and the long straps fit comfortably over your shoulder.
I really should start recruiting people to be purse models so I could give you a better idea of the size and how it looks on your shoulder! Perhaps I'll try doing that soon! :)

I will be selling this purse for $40.

Practice Makes Perfect!

Due to the loving encouragement of my husband, I ventured into learning how to make purses from fabric only, rather than just crocheting them, and believe it or not I really enjoyed it! I'm so thankful for the way he gently nudges me to try new things! :)

So, from my pile of random scraps of fabric I picked these two and sewed them up! It's a very simple tote bag, and I didn't make any pockets for it, but I did make a lining. You can find the pattern by clicking here and it's quite easy, even for me being a first-timer! The pattern, however, does not include the lining, so to make the lining I just followed all the same steps to make the body but made the opposite sides (of the lining fabric) facing when sewing it together.

(And you'll also see my good old sewing machine in the background...thank God for free hand-me-downs! :)

My blog, the Chameleon

Another day, another blog layout...still trying to figure out what I like... and yes, those are coffee beans in the hands I drew above. :) I have a few other projects I've been working on that are NOT purse related...some random experimenting I suppose. I'll post some pictures in the near future.

One CC Special Coming Right Up!

Here is the latest purse I've been working on. This is a custom purse for a friend of a friend. It is crocheted with an olive colored yarn, a lavender lining and embroidered leaves to match the lining. The style of this bag is very similar to the Coffee Purse I made, however, it is slightly smaller in size and the strap will most likely only be shoulder length rather than messenger bag length. The body measures about 9" x 2" x 6" and the strap is almost 2" wide.

Lovely Stripes and Flowers

This purse was just finished this morning, and will soon be appearing on etsy! The stripes are a light olive green against a soft white. Flowers are embroidered on the front in dark brown, matching the inside fabric liner (also a light olive green). There is a medium sized pocket on the inside and the purse closes with a snap. Great shoulder purse. Body measures about 9 1/2" x 6". The bottom of purse to top of strap measure about 12". This purse lies flat when set down.

In this next picture, the green stripes came out too dark, so please refer to the other photos which are true to the real green color I used.

Experimenting

Don't be alarmed if you notice the blog layout change about a million times! I'm just experimenting and trying to find a good layout and picture combination for my site. No worries!
